One-Line Bio

I'm the queen of the universe. Don't feel bad if you didn't know; I don't make a big deal out of it.

Biography

I used to long to be a full-time writer. I'm a serial entrepreneur, most recently founder and CEO of Firecat Studio, a fabulous new media marketing communications consultancy powered by dozens of amazingly talented creative individuals.

I've co-written two nonfiction books - Web Graphics Sourcebook written in 1997, - and Life Works: Finding and Following Your Spiritual Life Path in 1993. I still hope to write historical fiction when I'm ready; until then, I blog. Writing a novel is WAY more difficult than nonfiction, I find. It's self-revealing in unanticipated ways. But interesting, and fun. I distill and examine my beliefs while writing.

My son, the light of my life, Matthew Travis, is a major inspiration -- he's an amazing, insightful creative being.

I've been married to Greg Price for 25 years now, and we're still in love, learning and growing together. Committed relationships are hard sometimes, but well worth it. Thanks for being my teacher and mirror all these years, honey.

I believe in truth and justice, but instead of trying to force others to adhere to those principles, or my own ideas of them, my goal is to apply them to myself. This, too, is quite hard, and I'm not always successful.

But I'm inspired by my mother's example. While completing her master's degree in her 40s, she took a course that required her to write her own epitaph, which now appears on her tombstone in Sinton, Texas:

She wasn't always a good old gal, but she tried.

Wish me luck - I AM trying.

Peace and love,

Susan
