Although I'm completely happy for years now with a tiny FM radio that came free with Greg's shaving cream, a jog-proof MP3 player has been on my list for awhile. I enjoy listening to Randy Anderson's KPAC classical selections in the early morning hours, and the local college stations and NPR at other times of day. Sometimes, though, I want MY music, MY mix. I do have a bulky cassette player that eats batteries, but cassettes (especially my old self-made mixes) are unreliable.
So check out the new generation of MP3 players. Nike and Philips are coming out next month with little jog-proof MP3 players that also monitor your pulse rate or distance traveled and cheer you on. (Though I suspect I'd disable that coach/cheering section after a few miles.)
I can't help it; I want one!
